Virtual reality is a reality at OPL

Technology is nothing new to libraries, and increasingly bleeding edge technology is debuting at public libraries across the country. Just this week, Facebook's Oculus announced it will donate 100 sets of their virtual reality Rift headsets, touch controllers, and computers to libraries in California! In the Bay Area, this includes San Jose, Berkeley, Oakland, Sunnyvale, and Campbell.

WOW! No news on which branches at the Oakland Public Library, but I'm crossing my fingers the virtual reality machines will show up at the Rockridge branch. Once we hear more, I'll share it on the blog.
